Matthew L. Black       Loving son, husband, scholar and friend to all
Rochester- Matthew L. Black, 31, formerly of Rixford, went to be with the Lord Friday (October 19th, 2012) at the Rochester General Hospital following an apparent heart attack.
Born January 12th, 1981 in Bradford he was a son of Tim and Lisa Wandover Black.  On May 22nd, 2010 at the Trinity Church of the Nazarene in Rochester he married Amanda Santantrea who survives.
Matt graduated from Otto- Eldred High School in 1999 as class valedictorian.  He later graduated from the University of Phoenix with an Associate’s Degree in Christianity.  He then received his Bachelors of Christian Education from the Institute for Christian Works in Decatur, Alabama.  Later, from the Universal Life Church Seminary in Decatur, Alabama he received his Master’s Degree in Credentials of Ministry and his Doctorate of Divinity.  From the NCI Bible College he received a Master’s Degree in Theology Studies and a Doctorate Degree in Church Education.  He was also initiated as a member of the Tau Sigma Academic Honor Society from Liberty University.  
He had resided in Rixford until moving to Rochester in 2010.
He was employed by C.L. McKeirnan Bus Garage in Smethport for 6 years.  For the past two and a half years he, along with his wife, was the youth minister at the Trinity Church of the Nazarene in Rochester.  He was also an ordained Christian chaplain and minister in Pennsylvania and New York.  He had also had various jobs online as a computer technician.
Mr. Black had attended the Coryville Church of Faith and was a youth minister at the Trinity Church of the Nazarene.  He was also a member of the National Honor Society in High School.
He loved the lord and studying the bible and being helpful to others.  He also loved hunting, carpentry and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins fan.  He enjoyed singing.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his parents of Rixford; a maternal grandfather, Tom Wandover of Inverness, Florida; maternal step grandparents Gary and Judy Wagner of Blasdell, NY; as well as by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Wandover; two uncles, Robert E. Mosher and Jeffery Wandover; paternal grandparents Robert and Pauline Black.
Friends may call Wednesday (October 24th) at the Coryville Church of Faith from 12 to 2 p.m. at which time funeral services will be held  with Rev. Glenn Hamilton and Rev. Beth Rossler, both of the Lighthouse Free Methodist Church, co-officiating.  Burial will be in Grimes, Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Local arrangements are under the direction of the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred.

My deepest sympathies to Lisa and Tim, and Mandy and all the family over the loss of Matthew. Matthew was dedicated to the Lord and for reasons unknown to us, he was taken home at an early age. Matthew will be missed by many. Until we meet again, Aunt Carol.
