Lorraine Sanderson
RIXFORD — Lorraine Sanderson, 92, passed away on Saturday (August 7, 2021) at her residence surrounded by her family following a brief illness.
Born on March 15, 1929 in Smethport, she was a daughter of Horace and Agnes Burg Cunningham. 
On Nov. 20, 1948 in Limestone, NY she married Charles L. Sanderson, who passed away on March 11, 2000. 
She attended Limestone area schools and had resided at her residence in Rixford since 1952.
Lorraine was a homemaker and was a longtime member of the Rixford Evangelical Church, where she taught Sunday School, was the Children’s Director, and Secretary of the Memorial Fund. For many years she hosted the Ladies Bible Study in her home. For thirty years she was the leader of the Rixford Girl Scout Troops and she was a member of the Red Hat Ladies. Along with her husband and family she enjoyed Camping and baking for many family events, she had quite the green thumb and also enjoyed reading and caring for all the grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth (Janet) Sanderson of Olean, N.Y. and Randy (Michelle) Sanderson of Rixford; four daughters, Sharon Sanderson of Rixford, Carol (Neil) Trask of Eldred, Judy Schwab of Duke Center and Rebecca (Doug) Wagner of Chesapeake, Va.; fourteen Grandchildren and eighteen Great Grandchildren; a brother, Ron (Linda) Cunningham of Layton, Utah and a special Sister-in-Law, Mary Cunningham of Clinton, Utah and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband of fifty-two years, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Julie Sanderson in 1981 and a great Grandson, Bentley Schwab in 2016, and three brothers, Jerry, Jim and David Cunningham.
Friends will be received for visiting hours at the Rixford Evangelical Church from 6 - 8 p.m. today and again at 11 a.m. on Wednesday until the time of the service at 1 p.m. 
The funeral service will be held at the Rixford Evangelical Church on Wednesday (August 11, 2021) at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Mike Rex, Pastor, officiating and the Rev. Jim Cannistraci, co-officiating. Burial will follow in the Rixford PA, Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Rixford Evangelical Church.
